Robert Scott

Meet Robert Scott whose ‘Aeliona’ console table achieved an award for ‘The Best use of British Timber’ at The 2016 Celebration of Craftsmanship & Design exhibition in Cheltenham.

Robert draws on the knowledge and experience gained from his days as an aircraft fitter, where he honed his skills and developed a fierce eye for detail. In 2006 he left a promising career in aviation to travel to Asia and later New Zealand, spending the best part of a year working and trekking the wild parts of the country.

Still inspired by his earlier adventures Robert’s vision and artistry produce pieces that are unique and highly collectable.

Robert’s pieces are sculpted in Ash using a combination of hand carved stack lamination and laminate bending, creating wonderfully tactile shapes and surfaces. His inspiration comes from studying the elegant and fluid contours created by the erosive force of wind and water on rock.

His work is a wonderful mix of table and sculpture – making each piece a unique collectors item.
